Lately I’ve been letting my teenage daughter name my pieces. For this one she was clearly looking at the feathered plumage and thinking fondly of our time at the Enchanted Tiki Room at Magic Kingdom, which is my favorite place to be in that entire park. I have the soundtrack and play it in the car for her sometimes. She tolerates it and mostly doesn’t let her disdain show.

Okay, maybe she wasn’t thinking fondly of the Tiki Room, maybe she was secretly cringing at our car rides together.

I like to think if I wore this fascinating fascinator into the Tiki Room, the birds and flowers about to regale me with song would accept me as one of their own. I’m going to go put that soundtrack on.

This feathered arch consists of coral pink and black feathers, shaped and wired. It is attached to a satin headband with a metal comb and the hand stamped metal abbydid tag.
