Solstice Pendant
Solstice Pendant
Fairies may as well have made this. The silver leaf cradles the sparkly dewdrop of a glass cabochon, which surely contains some sort of enchantment. Wearing it can only be fortuitous.
This pendant was hand made by me by fusing dichroic glass and surrounded in fine silver made from precious metal clay. The glass is a milky white with flecks of iridescent silver.
More about the silver clay process... Silver clay is composed of fine or sterling silver mixed with an organic compound that, once fired, burns away the binding compound in the kiln and leaves nothing but the precious metal behind. It’s an incredible process that gives me the feeling of being an alchemist. Clay to metal - it’s like magic.
The pendant measures 1.75”x.6”x.4” and hangs on a 24” sterling silver snake chain that fastens with a lobster claw clasp.
