Correspondence is a collection of pieces integrating photography with traditional and contemporary textile art techniques.

In this series, I explore the surfaces of trains and the messages they carry. The side of a boxcar contains layers of meaning. Rust, paint and graffiti acquired from travels across the country speak to us about identity, community, mortality and profanity. By stitching into the resulting designs, my intention is to bring these messages forward while adding yet another layer of correspondence—my own. 

Mediums Used: photograph on canvas, embroidery thread, vintage trim, assorted fabrics, wooden frame.
