Kanzashi flowers are made using a Japanese technique of folding fabric, akin to origami. Each petal is crafted from a circle or square, then sewn to one another to build the completed piece. I use vintage kimono silk in my hair accessories for an extra level of luxury.

The fabrics used in this flower are a variety of purples and oranges, finished with a vintage red button in the center. It is firmly fastened to a metal alligator clip that is great for all types of hair. It can also attach to a purse strap, hair brim, dog collar, lapel, or any other place that could use gussying up with a pretty blossom.
